About the Foundation

5 questions
The Home Health Care Foundation is a Nigerian non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting community awareness and understanding of home-based healthcare. We bridge the gap between professional medical care and underserved populations — particularly the elderly and underprivileged — by providing education, advocacy, and certified caregiver training nationwide.
Our reach is national. We operate across all 36 states of Nigeria and the FCT, with a mission to bring consistent, quality standards of home care to every region — regardless of geography or socioeconomic status.
No. The Home Health Care Foundation is an independent, non-governmental organisation (NGO). We are not affiliated with any government body, though we do engage with public health stakeholders and policymakers as part of our national advocacy work.
Our entire operation is anchored on four pillars:
  • Awareness — National campaigns promoting home-based recovery as a healthcare gold standard.
  • Education — Public seminars that simplify healthcare concepts for families and communities.
  • Training — Hands-on, rigorous caregiver certification programmes.
  • Advocacy — Engagement with stakeholders to protect equitable access to care for the elderly and underserved.
The Foundation is sustained through a combination of individual donations, corporate sponsorships, strategic partnerships with hospitals and HMOs, and programme fees. All contributions go directly toward training caregivers, subsidising care for the underprivileged, and running community education programmes.

Our Care Services

5 questions
Through our network of certified caregivers, we facilitate a range of home-based care services including:
  • Elderly companion and daily living assistance
  • Post-hospitalisation recovery support
  • Dementia and Alzheimer's specialist care
  • Mobility assistance and rehabilitation support
  • Nutritional planning and meal management
  • Medication reminders and basic health monitoring
You can request care services through three channels: A coordinator will contact you within 24–48 hours to assess your needs and match you with a suitable, vetted caregiver.
Absolutely. Every caregiver in our network undergoes a rigorous national background check before being certified and placed. We also conduct monthly feedback calls and scheduled field supervisory visits to maintain consistent standards of care.
Yes. One of our core programmes is the Support the Elderly initiative, which uses donor funding to provide subsidised care services to underprivileged seniors who cannot afford standard home care costs. To apply or enquire on behalf of a family, please reach out to us via our contact page or WhatsApp.
Yes. Our national reach is a key priority. While service density is currently higher in major urban centres, we actively train and deploy caregivers in secondary cities and communities across all geopolitical zones. Contact us with your specific location and we will confirm availability.

Caregiver Training

5 questions
Our training programme is open to:
  • Aspiring professional caregivers seeking certification
  • Existing nurses or healthcare workers seeking specialised home care skills
  • Family members who wish to improve the quality of care they provide at home
  • NGOs and institutions wishing to train a cohort of caregivers for community deployment
No prior medical qualification is required for the foundational track.
Our "Foundation Standard" curriculum is structured across four modules:
  • Compassionate Care — Psychology of ageing and dignified patient communication.
  • Health & Safety — Infection control, mobility assistance, and emergency response.
  • Specialised Support — Dementia/Alzheimer's care and nutritional planning.
  • Professional Ethics — Confidentiality, reporting standards, and caregiver conduct.
Training duration varies by track and schedule. Our standard certification workshop is delivered over an intensive period with both theoretical and hands-on practical components. Contact us for the current intake schedule and duration for your chosen track.
Yes. Participants who successfully complete the programme receive a Foundation-issued certificate that qualifies them for placement within our national caregiver network. The certificate reflects our standardised curriculum and is recognised by partner hospitals and HMOs we work with.
Yes — and we encourage it. Our "Sponsor a Training" initiative allows individuals and organisations to fund the full certification of an aspiring caregiver from an underserved community. This is one of the most direct ways to create lasting impact. Visit our Support page or contact us on WhatsApp to get started.

Support & Partnership

4 questions
We welcome Strategic Partnerships with hospitals, HMOs, and corporate bodies that share our vision for better patient outcomes. Partnership structures can include co-hosting training workshops, referring patients for home care, co-funding community education, or employee wellness programmes. Reach out via our contact page indicating "Partnership & Support" in the inquiry type.
Donations can be made toward specific programmes — such as sponsoring a caregiver's training or funding subsidised elderly care — or as a general contribution to the Foundation's operations. Contact us on WhatsApp: 09030910091 or visit our Support page for current donation channels and account details.
Yes! We actively welcome volunteers to support our community awareness seminars and educational workshops. Whether you are a healthcare professional, a communicator, a logistics coordinator, or simply a passionate individual — there is a role for you. Indicate your interest via our contact form or WhatsApp and a team member will follow up with current volunteering opportunities.
We advise donors and corporate partners to consult with a qualified tax professional for guidance specific to their situation, as tax treatment of charitable donations in Nigeria depends on applicable regulations and the nature of the donation. We are happy to provide official documentation of your contribution upon request.
